Ford Township Neighborhood Watch Program
Ford Township is launching a Neighborhood Watch program to help keep our community connected, informed, and safe. As a rural township, we rely on neighbors watching out for one another. Whether you live here year-round, seasonally, or own property in the township, your involvement can help strengthen communication and community awareness. We are currently gathering names and contact information for residents and landowners interested in:
• Receiving updates and alerts
• Joining a contact/phone tree
• Helping support township-wide awareness and safety efforts
To sign up, please complete the form linked below or contact Katie Kerr, Ford Township Clerk, at 218-464-3569 or email at [email protected].
Once interest has been gathered, we will hold an informational meeting at the Ford Town Hall to discuss the program, communication methods, and next steps.
2026 Application of Calcium Chloride to Gravel Roads
Ford Township is working with Knife River to apply calcium chloride to gravel roads in the township. The application is targeted for June 15th, 2026. If you want this done to your road, please complete the form using the link below. The demographic information collected on the form will give the township board the information they need to ensure you receive the calcium chloride treatment.
If you go through Ford Township to apply calcium chloride, the cost is $1.79 per gallon, and if you want to work directly with Knife River, the cost is $2.74 per gallon. To estimate the number of gallons you will need for your road, you can use the following formula:
Area length X width ÷ 9 X .30 = total number of gallons required for your area
All residents and landowners who want the calcium chloride treatment must clearly stake the area they want to be treated. Please stake the beginning and end points on the road by June 14th, 2026.
The Ford Township board would like the form below completed and a $500 deposit made by Tuesday, June 9th, 2026. Checks should be made out to Ford Township, and they can be mailed to Ford Township, PO Box 391, Mora, MN 55051, or brought to the regular Ford Township board meeting on Tuesday, June 9th, at 6:00pm at the Ford Town Hall.
Once the calcium chloride has been spread, Knife River will provide the town board with a ticket tracking the exact amount of calcium chloride spread. Once received from Knife River, a Ford Township board member will contact you at the phone number provided on the form.
